Buy My Wardrobe

Sweetheart Fashion River Island Floral Dress
Dress - River Island
I've seen lots of bloggers do a 'blog sale' and it always appears to go well. It's great when you can buy something that was featured in someone's blog or has had a positive review from them. Usually it's unwanted or unused samples so I wasn't keen to call this a blog sale, these are not left over samples, instead I wanted to show you my clothes (and some jewellery) that I currently have for sale that are either unused and unworn or well loved and looking for new homes.

Sweetheart Fashion AX Paris Floral Dress
Dress - AX Paris
The AX Paris dress above is one I won a modelling competition in and extremely flattering on, very slimming; whilst the River Island halter-neck below and the River Island puff-ball dress at the top I've never worn but would look chic and stunning on anyone! I'm selling a range of high-street brands at amazing prices because they all really need to go soon.

I move around a lot and so am unable to hold onto clothes that I'm simply not going to wear again or know I'm unlikely to get enough use out of...and I need to fund my travels! As above, the majority of the clothes I'm putting up for sale are unused or used only once and so are like new and come from a very clean, smoke free home. I've put on this post a small selection of my favourite pieces, if you check out my Depop page (HERE or link on the side bar or search @sweetheartfashion on your Depop app) you'll be able to find all the items available and most items are available on my shop on my website (HERE).

If you're interested in any of my items, you can buy them safely through Paypal through the app, or please feel free to message me on my social media, fill in the contact form on my website or e-mail me (info@sweetheartfashion.com).

I would love to hear your thoughts. Do you sell your clothes?

OOTD - Summer Chic Workwear

Sweetheart Fashion Chic White Skinny Jeans Floral Shirt
Sunglasses - Gucci
Shirt - River Island
Clutch - Ted Baker
Jeans - Primark
Shoes - Zara

Today I'm working really hard and so thought I'd wear a sophisticated but fun, summer work wear outfit. I chose these hot white jeans for a brighter look. I wasn't sure if white skinny jeans would suit me so I bought some cheap ones from Primark to give them a test run first. However I'm really impressed how they've turned out!  They really go with anything and look super chic! I'll definitely be buying some better quality ones from my usual brands. This AW'14, ripped jeans are all the rage and I'm already beginning to see them everywhere so I may practise some DIY ripping on these.

I wore these with this stunning top from River Island's SS'14 collection. It's one size too big for me to give the baggy boyfriend shirt effect and therefore be light and airy for summer. As you've probably already guessed by my huge Ted Baker obsession, I'm a massive florals fan and the more bright, colourful and realistic the better. This top is no exception and almost looks like it could have been part of Ted Baker's fabulous collections. I love how the flowers don't cover the whole shirt, having the predominantly white showing makes it more subtle and less overpowering effect. I also love the range of rich colours in the flowers. You could pick out any of them to accentuate and go with any accessory or outfit.

I completed the look with my fabulous Ted Baker iPad cases, which also works as a chic oversized clutch. I am working a lot off my iPad today and I need to keep it protested. I have the Apple magnetic Smart Cover to protect the screen but I wanted something to extra protect it when it's in my handbag. Plus, often I won't need everything else and don't require a whole bag, therefore it's great to just carry this around instead. I wish I could have bought all the styles they had! They had a cream one and a floral one too, they all looked so lush but I thought this would go best with my outfits, particularly as I tend to wear monochrome over winter!

I also wore my new Zara heels. These are by far my favourite, they have such a stunning unique design and are super comfy! Separate blog post about these coming soon.

What summer work wear have you styled this season? Send me your links!

How To ~ Stay Motivated with Fashion Blogging

For the second time in the year that I have been blogging, I've succumb to 'blogging fatigue', 'blogger's guilt', pressure, writers block, whatever you want to call it. Overall, I lost my confidence and desire to blog. Which is why I haven't blogged for most of this month. I've totally bounced back now and am back to my huge love of blogging but I wanted to share with you my thoughts and tips to hopefully help others of you. I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you who continued to visit my blog and leave lovely comments etc. during my absence. It actually really helped and it's great being so supported.

During that time, I woke each morning and found myself feeling down, that I've disappointed each viewer for not having reached their expectation of seeing something new. Then 'fear' they won't return from being 'so let down', particularly if I didn't post for 'too long', and 'fear' the following morning I would awake to a big fat 0 readers.
I often feel pressure that I wouldn't look good enough for the pictures, I haven't worked out and eaten a little too much and feel I look like a whale or don't have a good enough outfit. They're all crazy things that can go through our heads and make us feel inadequate for our blog and sometimes spill over into our real lives.

When I was recommending blogging to a friend she admitted she felt put off because she felt "you have to be very strong" to be a blogger. At first I didn't really understand, let alone agree, with her view. But now I see more what she means.

I've read about many other bloggers who have felt the same and know it's a very common problem. Therefore I wanted to share some tips I put together for myself to keep me on track with a hobby I do enjoy and would be sad to loose, which I hope can help some of you. I've written this with a fashion blog angle but I'm sure you can extrapolate and transfer the skills to whatever type of blog you write.

Top Tips for Staying Motivated:

Pamper yourself
If you're feeling even the slightest bit inadequate, show yourself how much you love you. Go to a spa or a salon for some pampering or DIY it at home or with friends. You'll refreshed, comforted, and more prepared to 'face the music'.
One of the things for me was my hair, I thought it was looking scraggy and untamed as I hadn't had it done in a while so I went to my favourite salon and got the most expensive hair dresser there to work his magic. It took hours and cost a bomb but it's given me such a refreshed feel and more positive outlook for everyday and my blog.
I also treated myself to a facial and pedicure at home to feel extra refreshed. We all need a pamper night now and then!

Make sure you gain your validation from somewhere else in your life
Blogging can become a huge source of accomplishment for us, which is great, but don't let it become everything. Otherwise when things get on top of you or things go wrong they don't effect you as much. Take any criticism as constructively as you can and remember, it's not personal! Most of all though, if there isn't any criticism said, it's honestly not there so don't imagine people are thinking it. You're doing great!
Ensure you gain your confidence and how you define yourself from other things in your life too; a happy family life, a fulfilling relationship, doing well at school/work, mastering a new skill, creating something, there are plenty of possibilities out there.

Get a makeover
Getting a new look for yourself or your blog design might be just the ticket. Give you a fresh outlook or new relationship with your blog.

Buy something new
Retail therapy is a great feel good option. It's not full proof as the novelty can quickly wear off or become a bad habit, but make sure you're not too hard on yourself. You can treat yourself every now and then! Having something new or a whole new outfit to blog about might just give you the inspiration you need to get you kick-started back to blogging.

Change it up
Change where, when or how you take your pictures.
Go out and about and get a picture in a new environment and different picture backgrounds can be really refreshing for you and your blog.
Change the time of day you take the pictures, changes in the amount of lighting and time might help too; you may find that doing it first thing in the morning or after lunch etc. might be better for you.
Ask for help or do it yourself. If you don't already, maybe getting a tripod and taking the pictures in your own time and own way could help give you more confidence to be more adventurous with your shots.
Or, if you already do this, maybe ask a friend to take some pictures of you. You can make it a really fun experience and build a better relationship with them. If you have a friend doing a photography course, or ask someone who is, as it would be great experience for them, they will be more than happy to help!

Take a Blog holiday
Don't be afraid to take a break! If you treat this as a job you deserve a holiday every now and then. Don't blog or even think about your blog for a week, two... three... however long it takes! Release the pressure on yourself and remind yourself that you blog when it makes you happy. Get yourself grounded and refreshed again and you'll be raring to start.
Get out and about too. Visiting places can make you feel a lot better and be great inspiration.
And remember, you don't need to apologise! If you loose one or two followers that's they're loss. Take as much time as you need so that when you come back you'll gain lots rather than struggle on with just those few. It's your blog and your life. You don't have to answer to anyone.

Write a list of what makes you happy
If you love these things there are bound to be others that feel the same way and therefore these could be great inspirational tips for your blog. Make sure you remind yourself of what makes you feel happy and writing about things that do.

Exercise
Funnily enough it will work. We all know it releases endorphins (the happy chemical in our brain) so it will physically make you happier and reduce depression, plus feeling pumped, refreshed and toned will certainly boost your confidence about yourself and get you ready to go back in front of the camera.

I hope these tips can helped you.

Have you been through similar experiences? What are your top tips?

xoxo

Last Summer Sun OOTD - Missguided Floral Trousers

Sunglasses - Gucci
Top -  Rinascimento
Trousers - Missguided
Shoes - Accessorize UK

For me the weather has been pretty awful this month, as if winter has come already in August! Today I have a little bit of sun so I thought I'd wear some bright colours to totally brighten my day and show you my new trousers from Missguided. These are definitely a new summer favourite and I'd have worn them sooner if the summer hadn't left me already! In all honesty I have never bought trousers from Missguided before but I will definitely be buying some more! I'm really impressed with the quality and fit. These cigarette pants are made of a soft/silky material and it's a stretchy too so it's really comfortable to wear all day and to anything.

Sunglasses - Gucci
Top -  Rinascimento
Trousers - Missguided
Shoes - Accessorize UK

I adore the bright colours and pattern! This SS'14 has been all about big bold colours and prints and Missguided's summer collection was no exception. It's unusual to see a floral print so large but I think it should totally be used much more, it makes the piece pop and I believe gives it more depth too. If you haven't tried such a bold print yourself I highly recommend taking the plunge and trying this trend, even for autumn! Brighten up your wintry days.

Sunglasses - Gucci
Top -  Rinascimento
Trousers - Missguided
Shoes - Accessorize UK

I coupled this with my favourite lace top; with a pattern as bright as this on the trousers, having a solid and neutral colour on top is a must to make the trousers a real featured piece and stand out. I also chose my comfortable tan flats from Accessorize UK, to again have neural tones and further highlight the trousers. I also wore neural make-up with a splash of colour on my lips to match the trousers and wore my hair in casual natural waves.

Would you/do you wear such a bold print?

Even though it's still only August, the weather where I am is certainly making it feel like autumn's already here, where's the sun gone? But with the release of new AW'14 collections, it certainly brightens my gloomy days and gives me something to look forward to.

Today Missguided  released their exciting new AW'14 preview and here are my top 10 favourite pieces. I struggled (as always!) to pick just 10; all of them look great!
Plus, apart from the biker jeans, the items on my list are all under £20, which really fabulous prices especially with their 10% student discount.

There are a lot of chic blacks and whites which I'm looking forward to wearing again but I also love their autumnal floral pieces and for a splash of colour, they've added some pastel coloured pieces to their collection too. Most of all, I love their oxblood coloured items such as the unique chain back jumper. This piece I am definitely buying! Oxblood is such a luxurious and rich colour and ideal for autumn and winter. It also goes well if you want to add a touch of colour to an otherwise monochrome look for a chic but softer style.

Which is your favourite piece?
What are you looking forward to most about AW'14?
