OOTD - Zara florals

Sunglasses - Gucci

Today it was quite overcast for most of the day so I wore trousers instead of shorts or a dress like I have recently. I wasn't about to forget about summer though and thought I'd go for double florals. As I've recommended in previous posts, it's a good idea when wearing a floral top or trousers to have the other a plain colour to help your florals stand out. But these florals are so similar in tone and pattern, I felt they go really well together and added extra brightness to the gloomy day.

These are one of my all time favourite trousers from Zara and you can see why. They're from their AW'13 collection so unfortunately not available still but look gorgeous for summer or winter. The bright oranges and blue hues make them great as autumnal trousers but they're also bright and floral enough for summer. The bright burning oranges remind me of a summer setting sun. They're really comfortable to wear as well and great quality. These, as you may be able to tell from the pictures, are straight leg trousers and so aren't too tight for the summer heat and catch a breeze nicely.

The top is also from Zara and is from their SS'13 collection last year. I was sad to see that they didn't do anything similar or with a beautiful pattern this year to be honest, I was hugely anticipating that after last year's explosion of florals, birds and colours. Now I wish I had had the money to buy them all. But I do have this top and it really is a beauty. I've been stopped countless times in the street with people asking where I got it from. It's made up of tiny birds and big plush flowers which is a very unique and unusual design but goes together really well and really makes it stand out.

The top is made of a super light weight and delicate chiffon fabric which is ideal for spring and summer being so floaty. It is however very see-through so make sure you're wearing something underneath with a top like this!
The cross over is a unique design too, I don't often see it and assumed at first that it would be very unflattering as it puffs out at the bottom. But in actual fact, the light fabric actually makes it look highly flattering and has quickly become my go-to top for important or smart/casual occasions too.

What's your favourite floral outfit?

Guilt Free Summer Treat ~ Mango Sorbet

Summer time is definitely ice cream time! If you know you're an ice cream addict but worried about losing or getting further from your bikini body, remember, there's always an alternative. You don't have to miss out, instead try sorbet!
I had always assumed I didn't like it. As a child my mother had only given me her favourite, lemon sorbet, to try and I dislike lemon. I associated it with the sorbet and never tried any of them again, until recently. There are lots of flavours out there and my absolute favourite is mango sorbet.

For just 105 calories and a staggering 0.3g of fat you really cannot go wrong with these. They're practically just purée and ice with the same, if not better, taste!
You can just sit back, relax and enjoy the summer sun with this treat completely guilt free!

Do be warned though, as you can see from the label, it is a sweet treat so make sure you keep other sugary items to a minimum for the day, to keep the guilt low.

I highly recommend adding fruit to it too! Strawberries with it is so lush and will make you not want to have strawberries on their own again. I also recommend having a scoop of one flavour and a scoop of another. I like to mix my mango with raspberry flavour, that's so lovely!

Keep a look out for these when you're next on holiday. Places in Europe in particular do a huge range, which you just have to try! Rome does THE BEST in the world! And unimaginable flavours! (for ice cream too!)

Do you like sorbet?
Which flavour is your favourite?

Ted Baker Wedding Guest Outfit

Ted Baker Wedding Guest OutfitFascinator - Phase Eight
Sunglasses - Dolce and Gabbana
Necklace - Swarovski
Cami - Ted Baker
Skirt - Ted Baker
Belt - A gift
Watch - Guess
Shoes - River Island

I went to a wedding last weekend, as you may know if you read my wedding hats and fascinators post (here) and I chose to wear items from Ted Baker's new range. I put together their gorgeous cami (post about it available here) and matching skirt to make a unique outfit that together look like a cute dress. This two piece design is very in at the moment, there are lots of matching tops and skirts that you can put together to make a dress or mix and match to make an even more unique design.

Ted Baker do have two stunning dresses in this pattern, one in a bodycon silhouette (available here onTed Baker website) and another as a strapless maxi dress (available here on Ted Baker website). It's not surprising, the design is just darling, you could have anything in it!

The skirt is a luxurious satin material with netting underneath to add fabulous extra volume and shape. It was super comfortable to wear all day and is an ideal length. It also had a pleated design so that also added volume as well as a pretty shape and movement. I chose the full skirt (available here on Ted Baker website) but they do another skirt in the same pattern which is more fitted and slightly shorter (available here on Ted Baker website).

I had a red clutch to match too, not pictured I'm afraid, and ended up having no bolero or shawl as it was so hot and I didn't want to distract from my outfit at all.

I added a belt in the middle to finish it off and make it look more like a dress. As far as I could tell everyone believed it to be a dress so they do go together beautifully. You could add a nice sash or gem belt to create a look like this too but I went with a maxi width waist belt with gold detail at the front for extra glamour.

I thought I'd bring out the pretty flowers in the design more by having red accessories. I chose this amazing red fascinator from Phase Eight which has delicate feathers. It was so big that it is worn with a small red band that is easily able to be hid in your hair. I finished off this look with bright red heels from River Island. These were bought a couple years ago so are no longer available but keep a look out on ebay etc. as you may be able to find them second hand.

Due to these bold red accessories, I chose to keep my other accessories simple. You can't really tell in these pictures but I wore Swarovski diamond earrings and a delicate Swarovski necklace with matching ring, as well as a gold chic watch from Guess.

Like my hair? Check out tomorrow's post for a how-to.

Wedding Hats and Fascinators

With Ascot and wedding season in full swing, I thought I'd write a blog post about the gorgeous hats and  fascinators of the season!
There are just so many to choose from! I absolutely  adore them. I really love how chic they are and can really make your outfit pop! It's such a shame that, just as with  pretty dresses, there are never enough events or opportunities to wear them. Using my Polyvore account, I put together my favourite key pieces. These are also a selection that best show, I feel, the sheer range and variability that are available. They really get people's creative juices  flowing and they are getting bigger and more extravagant each year.
Of course bigger really is better but attention to detail is just as important too. They are always intricately designed with flowers, feathers, swirls or netting with bright colours or sheer black to help stand out.
There's definitely something to fit everyone's personality, outfit and even mood.

Body Shop Body Butter

Body Butter - The Body Shop

I don't often do beauty posts but I couldn't resist doing one for the fabulous product! This is my new purchase from The Body Shop. I'm a major Body Shop fan, all of my body beauty products are from here. I used to be a Body Shop Consultant at college and really wish I could continue it, it was so much fun, I highly recommend.

Body Butter - The Body Shop

I chose the papaya one (as you can probably tell from the picture). It smells absolutely gorgeous! Its very delicious smelling. It's my favourite body butter smell because it reminds me of summer and holidays. To me it smells like fresh fruit, sun-cream on the beach and smoothies. I'm instantly transported to my ideal destinations and a sunny happy time when I put this on and cannot help but smile and glow.

Body Butter - The Body Shop

The body butter comes in a thick cream but easily spreadable still and intensely moisturises. This one is for dry skin (though I just bought it for its lush smell!...as you may have guessed) but it will still work great on normal skin, giving you extra luscious, dewy, summer fresh skin. With the summer sun quickly heating up it's highly important to moisturise our skin regularly as so much moisture is lost fast in these conditions. Plus, even though I have no scientific evidence to back me up, I personally, strongly, believe that keeping your skin moisturised will keep your skin healthy and youthful too.

What's your favourite moisturiser?

Rosie for Autograph Bra

Bra - Marks and Spencer

Since the gorgeous Rosie Huntington-Whiteley teamed up with Marks & Spencer, I have bought lots of her stunning designs - ROSIE FOR AUTOGRAPH. In the past I have bought styles like the  in various colours and patterns as they're super comfortable. I thought I'd try a different style from her collection and try the Silk Longline Plunge A-DD Bra with French Designed Rose Lace. It's so beautiful! The gorgeous pink colour is a luxurious silk material and the lace in the middle make it look extra delicate and feminine.

Bra - Marks and Spencer

The fit is amazing. It has 3 hooks at the back due to the extra wide strap and it hugs your figure really nicely. Having the extra wide strap at the back and extra material under the cups at the front gives you fabulous extra support whilst still feeling sexy and feminine. It took me a little time to get used to the feel of it but just because it was different and certainly not due to any discomfort. It feels just as good even after wearing through a long, hard day, you'll be in no rush to take it off.

Overall, I highly recommend trying this piece! There's matching underwear available but the soft colours makes it ideal for mixing and matching with lots of her other designs.

If you do give it a try, let me know what you think!

Zara Pastel Heels

Heels - Zara

Here are my new favourite heels from Zara's new SS'14 collection. I love the unique design! I was originally looking for some cute pastel court shoes for a wedding I'm going to this weekend but when I saw these I couldn't resist. They're so chic, clothes with a unique and interesting design always stand out to me. The way they've designed it to lace up, the addition at the back and the curve around the heel gives it a real edge.

Heels - Zara

Although it has come out a more nude colour in the pictures here it looks more dusky pink in reality and would look ideal for all summer outfits! Particularly if you're wearing pastel shades or a lovely floral pattern. They came with an extra heel end too, I really appreciate that as I always go through my heel ends so quickly in heels. It doesn't have a wedge under the ball of your foot and toes unlike a lot of new heels, so although you won't have the extra height they are easier to walk in and make the shoes more comfortable to wear for long periods of time or if you know you'll be standing a lot.

Heels - Zara

Having them lace up at the front with a the light, string lace is a great touch too. It's easy to lace up and feels really comfortable. Zara heels are really well made and so are always very comfortable! Some of their heels are little expensive but well worth the money! Thankfully, these were more reasonably priced, so there should be a cute pair of heels available for any budget.

Where are your favourite heels from?
