Remington Professional Silk Hair Dryer Review

Sadly, my little travel GHD hair dryer that came with myGHDs has 'passed away' so I thought I'd use my birthday Boot's voucher and buy myself a new hair dryer but a big one this time.
I decided to get the best one possible in the shop and so brought the Remington Professional Silk Dryer. So glad I did! It is great. Although other models had additional products like a barrel brush, I thought it would be best to buy one where the money went on getting one great quality product than lots of relatively good ones.
The Remington Professional Silk Dryer has a very sleek design and lush red colour, but aside from great aesthetics, it also has great drying quality.

It comes with two, different sized nozzles for varying drying precision as well as a diffuser attachment for fantastic wonderful natural curls. Apparently, it gives off 90% more ions for reduced frizz and increased shine. I'm not going to even contemplate how true this claim is scientifically but what I can confirm is that it does do a great job of keeping your hair frizz free when drying. My hair's always looked flawlessly silky when I dry my hair using this!

As you can see from this picture, there are three switches one the handle. The top one is a turbo blast function to increase the airflow by 10% for extra blasts. The middle actually controls the heat level and the bottom is the on/off switch.  I automatically go for the middle as on/off and  it has taken me a while to adapt. Personally, I'd therefore find it easier if they were the other way round but that's just my personal opinion.

Overall, I feel it gives great results and is easy to use after a 2-3 uses once you've got the hang of the controls. I love that you can easily dry your hair straight, lose waves or natural looking beach waves.

A/W'13 Style ~ Faux Fur

This season's must-have style is definitely Faux Fur! It's a timeless elegance that keeps coming back into fashion and I can see why. Warmth and stylish chic!
Here are some of my favourites from major brands:

Faux Fur Fantasy A/W13

Lined jacket

Little Mistress white coat

Warehouse faux fur coat

Missguided black coat

Boohoo faux fur hat

River Island glove

Jane Norman faux fur hat

Ted Baker accessory

Vintage ones can be lovely but you have to be careful not to buy real fur. Never support animal cruelty. At least with ones brought from the high-street you guarantee it's safe.

For me, the bigger the better! I absolutely love the huge fur collars like the one on the Missguided coat featured here. I think it just adds to the chic and makes anything so much more luxurious!

Another thing I love is that faux fur can be added to almost anything to add glamour! You can have it on the trim of dresses, coats as trip or whole faux fur, gloves, boots, hats, ear muffs, scalves or snoods...the list is almost endless. Totally fabulous for winter!!

What's your favourite?

Winter Ball Outfit

Last week I went to my University's Winter Ball. The dress code was glamour so I thought this dress would be perfect! In the spirit of Keira Knightley and Kate Middleton, I decided I'd 'recycle' and wear my birthday dress again. I'm so glad I did. It's a really wonderful dress!
Again I had to wear my H&M mini skirt as it is just a little too short for me but it still goes.
I used rollers in my hair for red carpet curls and used minimal eye make-up to complement my sexy Maxfactor red lipstick.

Necklace - Swarovski
Dress - missguided
Skirt - H&M

I thought I would complete the look with my gorgeous Swarovski necklace and (you can just about see in the picture) my new GUESS watch.

Did you have a winter ball? What dress did you wear?

Onesie review

"OMG! It's like lying on a cloud!!"

As promised in my last post, here's my onesie review.
This is the onesie I chose and it's been amazing! It's £38 from Next so maybe a little pricey compared to ones say from Primark and other highstreet ones. Luckily I was given a voucher for my birthday so the price wasn't as bad. However, the key difference as often seen with products, with price comes quality and I must admit, if you're looking for something unbelievably comfortable and super warm then the little extra cost is totally worth it!

Onesie - Next

It's made out of fabulously soft fabric so you feel like you're a real teddy bear! And the fabric is the same inside too!! It genuinely feels like you're lying on a cloud!
Unfortunately they only had one two sizes too big for me left which is why it looks ridiculously large on me, I was so in love with it though I just had to get it anyway! But that does mean I can't comment on closeness of fit. However, getting one larger than life does mean that it traps extra air, only adding to your warmth!!

It also comes with this fantastic fluffy hood which is sure to keep you even warmer. Most of your heat is lost from your head so having the hood up on your coldest evenings is a definite help...and very fun. It's made of thick, long, faux fur inside and out and is therefore very thick. It even comes with adorable bear ears and tail.

Washing it is fine too. A friend of mine said that she would be put off buying it due to concerns about how it would wash. I've found it to be totally fine to wash though. Tumble drying is allowed and thankfully so, the hood is so thick, even the tail too, that air drying might take a while. Although the hood was a tiny bit wet still at first, the lowest setting is most recommended and that way you don't lose any quality and it doesn't shrink.

If you're looking for ultimate comfort and warmth this winter then this is definitely the one to get!!

Comfort - 10/10
Warmth - 10/10
Price - 7/10
Quality - 10/10
Aesthetics - 8/10
